Q+A with Maria
What’s your beauty philosophy?
Taking a holistic approach to looking after your skin is so important. I wanted to be part of the movement that encourages women to protect and enhance their natural beauty, rather than change it dramatically. We’re not chasing perfection. It’s all about shaping unique beauty and being true to ourselves. I may not be a magician, but I am able to create some magic artistically. I also have a very reliable track record – and my clients are always happy.
What is your favorite treatment?
I’ve got two favorite treatments: PDO threads and Skin Boosters with Hyaluronic Acid filler (HA).
PDO threads are amazing. They tighten and improve skin texture by strengthening the dermis, increasing collagen production, while improving the appearance of folds and fine lines. They are a non-invasive treatment that lifts the skin and stimulates our collagen production, made from Polydioxanone, an absorbable polymer. The threads become a support structure for your face, and, over time, the threads are absorbed by the body.

I love this treatment as not only it stimulates our collagen but it helps with other skin issues we may have, e.g. skin elasticity, skin texture, fine lines and scarring. I find if anyone doesn’t want to try dermal fillers, this is wonderful treatment for anyone – great for the marionettes, jowls and for under-eye treatment.
HA Skin Boosters work magic to plump beneath the skin. Tear trough treatment is an under-eye treatment so it’s useful for someone who may have some hallowing and dark shadowing under the eyes. I love how you can notice your skin texture is smooth within a week, which continues to improve gradually and continues to work over 8-12 weeks, resulting in a more awakened and refreshed look.
Best moment as an aesthetic nurse?

That’s a tough one, as I love everything about my job! I love watching my clients’ ‘face journey’ and watching them boost their confidence by helping them reach their aesthetic goals. There’s a sense of empowerment within the client on their ‘face rejuvenation journey’. Clients trust me with this journey, and it’s a great honour.

Other great moments would be when I see my clients shine with a boost of self-confidence after their treatment and they return for their two week follow-up – they glow with ambience and ooze with so much confidence. That’s the best feeling, as I’ve given something back to them, reminding them how beautiful they are to begin with.
What are your words of wisdom for all women?
"We are all beautiful, it’s all about seeing that beauty – inside and out. As well as loving our imperfections. We are not striving for perfection, as no one is symmetrical."
